"It Matters Where the Story Comes From" Campaign for The Sunday Times

Description: This personal project involved creating a campaign for The Sunday Times to raise awareness about the dangers of fake news. The campaign featured satirical art of politicians being deceptive, with Vladimir Putin's face turning into a clown face, Donald Trump's nose growing bigger indicating he's lying, and Boris Johnson controlling the population with strings like puppets. The campaign also included oversized stationary robot realistic statues handing out fake news papers with The Sunday Times' "Know Your Times" logo and tagline.

The objective of the campaign was to position The Sunday Times as a trustworthy news source and to educate the public on the importance of being aware of fake news. The success of the campaign was measured through brand awareness and engagement, as well as public perception of The Sunday Times as a credible news source.

Overall, this personal project was an innovative and creative solution to a real-world problem, and demonstrated a deep understanding of the power of visual communication and the importance of trustworthy journalism. The project required creative thinking, design skills, and effective marketing strategies to promote The Sunday Times' "It Matters Where the Story Comes From" campaign.

This campaign was made in 2018, this was a time when Fake News was a big topic of discussion and regularly appeared on social media as a topic of discussion as well as appearing on the news quite frequently. This was the perfect opportunity for The Sunday Times to jump on this cultural trend and make itself stand out as the number 1 source of real, genuine news in the world, and to criticise figures that common people distrust as being a source of fake news politicians such as Borris Johnson, Vladimir Putin as well as Donald Trump who had been heavily criticised during this time period because of his constant stream of controversial tweets and arguably consistent fake news.
